A free, complete, plainly-presented directory of every school in New Zealand, built from the Ministry of Education's own public data.

New Zealand's school data is public and good. It is also scattered across a statistics portal, a set of spreadsheets and a map viewer, none of which a parent at 10pm on a Tuesday can reasonably use. This site puts one school on one page, with its roll, its year levels, its zone status and its contact details, and sources every figure.

What this site will not do

It does not rank schools. It does not rate them, score them, or publish reviews. It does not sort anything by the Equity Index, and it does not tell you whether your address is in a zone. Every one of those would require pretending the data supports a judgement it does not support.

Who publishes it

Amit Sharma, a licensed real-estate salesperson and marketer in Auckland, who also publishes SuburbIQ (Auckland rents) and PropertyScope (zoning). Schools, rents and zoning are the three things people ask about a suburb, which is why the three sites link to each other.

How it is paid for

Advertising. Ads are kept away from the Equity Index and enrolment-zone sections, and never appear above the first screen. No school pays to appear here, to rank here, or to change anything here, and there is no mechanism by which one could.
